Blanket up date x

Bonjour mon petit pois,

I'm having such a marvellous break. To be honest we haven't done a great deal!!
Last week we visited a local farm with friends, we've been in to town for next years school uniform and bits and bobs for our holiday. Last week the children played happily in the garden in our humongous paddling pool.. Daisy is also insisting that she's growing up and has begun to meet up with her friends at the park at the end of our road. It's such a worry I must phone her every 10 minutes to check she's okay!  I think I've just got to accept that she's growing up and I need to stop worrying so much. Daisy is sensible and her and her friends do look out for each other.

Well you'll be pleased to know Charlie's blanket is very nearly complete.....

I have two more rows of red to complete, the ends to sew in and then it's finished, hoorah!!

Well I went off to start the dinner and look what happened!!........
Daisy and Charlie snuggled under their blankets to watch the Olympics (Charlie covered himself over carefully, not to undo my stitches).
Cheeky monkeys :) x I love that they love their blankets, It makes me feel soooo happy x
They were both hand made with 100% love xx

That however is not the end of my blanket making. Gavin is feeling rather left out and has asked if he can have a blanket made in earthy colours. How can I refuse ;) It will be my pleasure. So yesterday I dashed off to Anita's to purchase new project yarn. My most favourite thing to do in the world :)
Would you like to see the colours I picked out?.....
What do you think? I think they look rather nice together. I'm going to use the same yarn that I used for Daisy and Charlie's blanket. The cheap and cheerful Woolcraft. If you buy 10 balls it works at about £1 per ball, bargain. It washes at 40 degrees and can be tumble dryed..bonus x
I will not start this project until Charlie's is all finished, honest ;)
I was going to add in this green here as well but it just doesn't go does it?
Have you spotted anything else in my basket?

Can you see it better now? No?
Here you go then :)

What yummy yarn this is my loves.

It's Life DK by Stylecraft.

It's great value for money at £2.75 a ball and it goes along way. Each ball holds 298 metres/326 yards.
I just love the flecks, would you like a closer look?

I can't wait to start using this and think I'll alternate between blanket and this........

It' a lovely cropped cardigan. The great thing is I can make the sleeves and body as long or as short as I'd like.

I really want to complete Charlie's blanket tonight so I'm off to put the kettle on before I begin.

Good night for now my loves and happy crochet x x x

P.s Knit and Natter tomorrow night, Hoorahhhhhh :)

Sunny Days x x

Good Morning my loves,

Phewee, I finally made it here in blogland. I don't honestly know where the time goes.
I'm a little excited to say the least, it's the six week holidays...HOORAHHHH!!
I can't tell you how good it feels to have this break from work. I need to rest and recuperate for a bit, since having the nasty shingles I've felt really tired and have lacked energy. This break will help alot and the sunshine makes me feel great ;)

I'm not sure where to start with this post!! It's early Wednesday morning and I'm sitting here waiting for our Postie to deliver my euros. I have a feeling I'll be waiting all day!! I wondered down stairs a bit ago and before I knew it my lap top was on my knee so here we are!!

Okay.... do you remember those body parts I showed you in my last post? Would you like to see what they turned in to?........
Please let me introduce you to the lovely Rita. I'm very proud of her. She turned out better than I expected. I hand stitched her beautiful dress. I tried on the sewing machine but I was all fingers and thumbs!!
I enjoyed making Rita sooo much I decided she needed a boyfriend.......

So here we have Reg, standing next to Rita in his hand stitched dungaree's.
Don't they make a lovely couple ;)

You have to see their lovely tails....

How cute.

Hmmm...Reg is slightly smaller than Rita, I don't know what happened there!!! I have a bag full of yarn in different shades of grey and brown so I think more bunny rabbits will be on the way x

On the 3rd August a colleague of mine is getting married. I'm taking Daisy with me to the church (She's sooo excited) and Gavin and I are going to the evening party. This colleague of mine is lovely, she's one of the nicest people I've met. So I had to come up with a great prezzie! I contacted a fellow crafter and I've had a special something made. I collected this gift last night and I love it. I want one for myself. Unfortunately I can't show this super special gift with you today and I know my colleague doesn't read my blog but you never know, someone might spill the beans and spoil my surprise. I've taken a pic of it and will show you next time :)
The prezzie was commissioned from by best friends neighbour, Misia. She sells her lovely crafts on Etsy if you want to take a peak you will not be disappointed www.foundintheloft.etsy.com You guys know I'm not technical right, so I'm not sure the link will work!!

I can however show you gift Number 2. Sunday evening I had an urge to start a new project. So I got out my felt collection.....

Hmmm... which colours did I choose?
I settled on these lovely shades...

I then cut them up into these...

Can you guess what it is yet?
I then made twelve of these...

The pattern for these flag is from the lovely Lucy at Attic 24, thank you Lucy x

I then edged them using this colour....

And stitched all of the ends in.

I then stitched all of the letters and hearts onto the flags....
Last night I joined them all together and added tiny little bells below the hearts.....
You can just about see the little bells.
Here it is finished....

I hope she likes it. She was telling me how much she liked bunting so I'm sure she will.

A scrummy stack of wedding bunting x x

I must put a stop to these creative urges now and get on with Charlies blanket. It is growing honest...

This is going to take priority from now on x x

Whilst I've been sat here the euros have arrived.. hoorah! So I'm off to potter around the garden and enjoy this lovely sunshiny day.

Enjoy your day my loves and happy crochet x x x x

Days off x x

Hello my loves, how are you guys today? I'm feeling great ;)

My work has finished at college until September, so for the past couple of weeks I've had Monday and Tuesday off.......bliss.
I haven't got an excuse for not blogging really! I've just been abit selfish with my time and wanted it all to myself, tee, hee. I've loved every minute and I've been surprisingly busy. Not just with the crochet I might add!!
I've been buying clothes for our holiday, school uniform for September, tiles for the kitchen. I've been to the library, opticians, dentist and of course I've managed to get back to knit and Natter.. hoorah!!
I didn't realise just how much I'd missed it until I saw all of my proper lovely friends ;)

I can't say I've managed much gardening tho', I managed to dash out Sunday afternoon to mow the lawn and pull up a few extra big weeds before the rain came tumbling down!! I can't wait to get out there and make it all neat and tidy.....rain, rain go away!!!!! It had better not follow me to France!

In between the showers I did manage to harvest some of our potatoes.......
And delicious they were too.

I finished my stole/shawl a couple of weeks ago as well.....
I am sooo pleased with it and love the rippled edge.....

Would you like to see it on?.....

It is so snuggly, I wrapped it around myself and day dreamed about the cool evenings in France, sipping wine and watching a show....aaaaahhh ;)

I can't wait, not long now :) x

That brings me to Charlies blanket.....

It doesn't look like I've done much, I think I've made it too wide. I don't have the heart to undo it and start again. I'm sure it will be fine :)
I think I have plenty of yarn to finish it, don't you??

I've also been making more bootees/Mary Janes...

I've also been creating this....

I cannot wait to assemble all of these body parts!! One last leg to complete and then I'm done. I'm afraid you'll have to wait until next week to see him/her x x

I'm off to read this months....

Over a cuppa. I will be back next Tuesday my loves, I'll make sure I'm more organised from now on and get back to my regular Tuesday posts.

Much love to you all, thank you for continuing to read and support my little space of  happiness.

Night night for now and happy crocheting x x x x x x x x

P.s Great news, Daisy and Charlie have both got fantastic teachers in September....... hoorah! Sometimes you do get what you wish for ;)x x x x x x x x
