Happy Birthday to me x x

Hello my loves,

I have had a wonderful week this week.
I forgot to mention last post that it was my birthday didn't I? It was last Wednesday 21st. I don't just have a birth day tho', I turn it into a birth week...tee, hee.

It was lovely. Gavin goes to work super early. So, Daisy set her alarm on her phone and then woke her brother, before waking me armed with gifts. How lovely. I still get excited now about birthdays and I'm......old!!

My gifts were fab. There's something magical about peeling wrapping paper and trying to guess what's inside x

Gavin and the children bought me a kindle. Now, I've avoided these and only just recently decided I would like one. I love my local library and adore the smell of an old book. I also love that the ladies in the library know me well enough to save and recommend books. So I'm never short of a good read.
But I must admit, I love my new kindle, it feels nice to hold. I struggle to put it down, I will never lose a page and I will now have a tidy bedside x x

We had a nice tea on the Wednesday followed by.......
Cake and the glorious sound of Gavin, Daisy and Charlie singing Happy Birthday x x

I received lot's of other gifts from family and pals......

Another of my favourite gifts was from my pal Anna. She knows I love crochet and she knows I love Cath. She gave me this......
Imagine my excitement when I opened this beauty....
What a beautiful tin. This is the back. And this is what's inside....

Heaven.
You all know me so well by now!!!!! Your right, I couldn't wait!!!!!!

So whipped these up in super fast time and turned them into this.......

The front complete. I began the back.....

I'm hoping to finish it tonight. It will sit on my chair in front of the fire x x

I also received a cute crochet book from my sister-in-law......

It has some gorgeous patterns, want to see?....

And that's just a few.

Another pal bought me some bulbs for the garden as well as other gifts....

And that's what I did Sunday. After the grass was cut and the pesky weeds pulled I planted bulbs and look forward to watching them grow.
I'll give a sneak peak of the garden in a few weeks time when it looks more colourful.

Last night I had an uncontrollable urge!!!! An urge to make bootees. I dashed down to the shed before it got too dark. I needed to find my bootee yarn stash. (And there's lot's of it!!!).
I created for the first time, some baby slippers......

How cute. I couldn't resist taking pics in the sunshine this afternoon...

This design was actually a mistake!! I ran out of yarn and didn't want to undo them. I'm really pleased with them and plan to make more......

Back to my birth week then.
Wednesday... Knit 'n' Natter
Friday.... Out with the girls.
Saturday.... Take away night.
Sunday.... More wine.
Oh dear, I must get back on the diet!

You know I don't like to waste pics when I've taken them soooo.......

Thank you to all of my friends and family for my lovely gifts and money. I soooo look forward to next year x x

I have a few more bits to show you, I think I'll save them for next week. I've waffled on for long enough and I'm now in need of a cuppa and my hook ;)

Night night for now my loves and happy crochet x x x x

Hello my loves,

I hope all you lovely Mummy's had a fab Sunday. I received lovely cards and a hand tied bunch of flowers......

I love that the Lilies are yet to open, they should last a while...

Gav cooked up a scrummy breakfast too. The day was spent relaxing and crocheting x

Well my loves, Saturday I was busy hoovering and thought I heard the door bell. Imagine my delight when Gav called up the stairs and tossed me my parcel.

If you have visited 'The little room of Rachel' blog you might know what's inside!!!
I actually spotted these on Rachel's blog and just had to have some. I don't like to miss out you know! Do you want to see what's inside?

Hooray for yummy yarn. The colours are just fantastic. I love creative cotton as you know and use it abit  a lot!! Creative cotton is an aran weight. This scrummy cotton is a DK. I haven't a clue what I'll do with it yet. If you have any ideas, drop me a line :)

If you would like to receive a colourful parcel of your own pop over to 'Planet Penny's' blog.
Now, If I was clever enough I'd pop a link in here!! I'm just not technical, sorry!! I need my pal mad Sally to pop round and give me a 'How to improve my blog' lesson!!!!!!!

This week I've finished a few projects without taking pics...doh! The lovely chunky lace scarf is finished. I also completed another order for the Mary Jane's and the blue zip purse.

A while back, I think it was before Christmas. I started a scarf using a lovely 4ply sock yarn and a Japanese pattern. At first I was going to make everyone one for Christmas. But soon realised how slow going the pattern was and with such a fine yarn. I picked it up again last week, by Saturday the scarf was complete....
The pattern is so fine and I'm so pleased I used sock yarn as it is so deliciously soft x

It has a lovely picot edge.
Japanese patterns can be tricky to read. This one wasn't so bad.

As you can see, I've pointed out where you begin. It's also indicated with a number 1. The picot edge is added at the end.

I got home quite late from work tonight. But with the happy thought that all paper work was complete and all students happy.
My lovely children were happy doing there own thing, so I made a cuppa and sat down to read this months Molly Makes....

Aaaah...bliss x x
I look forward to it every month (as well as inside Crochet).
I couldn't resist the free gift with this months, and set to it straight away..
Taaa, Daaaa :)

I bought another new crochet booklet this week. Oh dear, the book shelf is almost full!!
It was the front cover that did it. Isn't the wrap gorgeous?
And this.....

And these.....

I really must crochet some boy stuff!

Last of all I started a crochet monkey, he's half finished....

He'll look much more handsome with all of his body parts and features.

I'm off now my loves, lunch boxes to pack and tidying to do before crochet time.

Night night my loves and happy crocheting x x x

Sunny Sunday x

Well good evening my loves, Sorry I'm a bit late!! I've had a 'Friends Of.......' meeting at the school I work. I'm one of the main fundraisers so just had to attend. I have fab fundraising ideas, one is a 'Spooky Sleepover' in the school itself .....it is haunted!!!!!!! and a fashion show. I'll let you know how I get on.

My first piece of news is actually a thank you. Thank you Rachel of 'The Little Room Of Rachel' blog who sent me a picture of  my blog, it was featured in Lets get crafting magazine. I hunted high and low but couldn't find the right copy!
Imagine my delight in seeing my little old blog in full colour in a popular mag. It was only a small piece but I still had butterflies inside my tum x x

This week the crochet goes on and I have started to make a beautiful bag. I found the pattern on 'Colour in a Simple life' blog. It's beautiful. My mad pal Sally saw I'd started it and set a challenge to see who could finish it first. I sent a cheeky comment to her blog (cupcakes and crochet) last week telling her I'd finished it....I fibbed, I finished it Sunday evening. Tee...Hee ;)

It started like this......
And then turned into this......

And then this.....
And This....
Once all of the ends were sewn in I started to sew it together......

Looking good huh? The two sides were then added and the handles crocheted in.....

Taa, Daaa. Sooo cute. Lets have another pic.......

I love it and have already picked out the colours for the next bag x

Well, wasn't Sunday a glorious day. I put my hook down for a few hours to enjoy the sunshine and do a bit of gardening. I mowed the lawn, one of my most favourite jobs...honest. And then I set about chopping out the Zebra Grass.....

Not as easy as you might think!! My word it was tough. It took at least two hours!! In it's place we are planting a Plum tree. I'll show you a pic next week.

In between cutting and pulling and ranting! I spotted the rhubarb....

I can't wait for it to grow. We love rhubarb..yummy, yum.

The daffs are coming through all around the garden and look lovely and bright....

The tulips are coming through as well, they're nearly there so will show a pic next week.

Last night I started another project, I'm sooo busy trying to get stock together for my craft fairs. I've been accepted at The Gedling Show... yipeee.
Here it is, a lace like scarf. I know Spring is around the corner, but I couldn't resist it. I've used a super chunky yarn in the gorgeous pink.

My last piece of news is another crochet booklet I've bought....

It's by Debbie Bliss and I think it's the first crochet book she has done.
The patterns are fab, very sixties. Do you want to see more?.....

These are a couple of my favourite designs, also.......

And......

And there you have it my loves, what a busy week.

I'm off to crochet another section of scarf before I go up the wooden hill.

Night night for now and happy crochet x x x

Hoorah for March x x

Good evening my loves.

What a dreadful day I've had!! I was verbally abused this morning by an extremely stupid male stranger with road rage. He repeatedly punched my window whilst demanding I got out the car (I didn't!!!!!!!). I was a little annoyed and shocked as you can imagine - all for no reason of course, other than I got in front of him when merging into one lane. Male drivers, I ask you!!
Thank you to all of the kind motorists who checked I was okay and the lovely lady who gave me her details and offered to be my witness. Your kindness is most appreciated x
Any how I spent a while in the police station this evening, reporting the incident and feel a little better. Still a bit shocked though to say the least.

I'm going to try and put it behind me now, It's ruined my day I will not let it ruin my evening :)

I flipped over my Mollie Makes calender last week to March and loved this pic 'Think Happy, Be Happy'  we can but try my loves, we can but try!

The order I've been working on over the last four weeks was finally complete, Sunday night I wrapped everything up ready to go to it's destination....
I love the wrapping up part as much as I like the crocheting part,. There's something quite satisfying about wrapping and preparing to send off some crochet goodness. And then the nerves set in...I hope they like it x x

Once the order was safely in the post (yesterday), I began another. Ready to see?........

It's the bootees, in one of my favourite colours. I'm not sure I've shared the bottoms of the bootees with you before.......

How lovely :)
I just need to stitch the buttons in place tonight. I will deliver them tomorrow.

I do have good news to share. I've finally taken the plunge and applied for public liability insurance. Which means I can apply for lots of council run craft fairs,. I've applied for a couple and will let you know if I get in. I'm also still waiting to hear from Southwell Minster. I mentioned a few weeks ago that I may be attending the Westbridgford craft market, well that just didn't happen. I was hoping to stand outside of my favourite shop 'Daisy, Daisy', but they refused me on the grounds that my stuff was a lot like theirs!! It's not, but as it's one of my favourite shops (still..I don't hold a grudge..grrr) I will take it as a compliment :)

Any how, last night I thought I'd better start getting more stock together now that the orders are complete and began.........

Another pretty purse, just like the pink one I made. Do you remember?......

Well my loves, my heads feeling foggy with stress and the thought of that stupid man wanting to throttle me. I feel the need for a strong cup of coffee and a lie down...I'm sure you guys understand :)

I've just had the most marvellous thought, it's crochet club tomorrow night. I'm seeing my pal who I've not had a good chat with for ages - we must share projects. I can't wait. That happy thought is now firmly planted at the  front of my mind and that's where it will stay x x

Night night for now my loves and happy crochet x x x

P.s Hoorah March.......It's nearly my birthday...yayyyy. I love birthdays
