Hoorah for prezzies x x

Hi Guys,
I hope you all had the most wonderful Christmas. It was a busy day here at Baggaley Cottage. We had all the family over, ten of us around the table. It was lovely, great food (cooked by Gav) and great company, but if I'm honest it went by in a blur!!! (Too much Champagne and wine!!).

We all had fantastic Christmas prezzies. Daisy and Charlie were so excited with their pile of gifts.
Before I give you a peek at my gifts I'm going to go back to Christmas eve.

Daisy and Charlie were busy decorating ginger biscuits to take to the family along with the Christmas prezzies....
The concentration. They've not been this quiet for ages.....
The finished biscuits were lovely and the Grandparents loved them.
The biscuits are from Ikea and have holes ready for you to hang them. I try to buy them every year but you do have to be quick they sell out fast!!.....

We got all wrapped up to go out on our deliveries. Daisy wore her new crochet hat and scarf....

I am chuffed to bits with it, so is Daisy...

I can't believe this yarn is discontinued. The colours are fab. I added a little flower on the side.

It just finishes it off nicely.

Okay, are you ready to see my Christmas prezzies? I've been very spoilt!!
The first is a very gorgeous Orla Kieley bowl...

I love, love, love this Orla design and have many bowls in it. I also got an Orla bag which I'll show you next time and......

Hoorah... an Orla radio. I've wanted one of these for a while. I've spent most of the day today listening to Women's Hour, The Goons and Johnny Walker.
I then decided I needed to go outside and get some fresh air and I needed to do something very exciting.
Whilst I was out there Gav came out and bought me a cuppa.....

in my army surplus tin mug, just what I needed. He began to chop wood....

From these huge logs....

And I got my bike out to put this on it...

Ooooh what lovely Babushkas, Do you know what it is? Would you like another look?.......

It's becoming a bit clearer. Here we go. Taa, Daaa.......

Oh my, how gorgeous is that. Let's have another look....

I can't wait to go out on my bike and show it off.
It's made by a company called Basil.

They have a fab website with the most amazing bags 'n' baskets in all different shapes, sizes and designs. Have a look...

I also had a lovely Christmas gift off a lovely friend...
Hoorah..I've secretly wanted a hand-made book cover for a while. I love it, duck egg blue is my most favourite colour. I'm keeping the brooch attached I think it looks really pretty, don't you? and I'm lovin' the label ;)x

You all know crochet is my passion. Well I received a new crochet book for Christmas. Hoorah for me and one that I'd had my eye on....

I'm really enjoying making crochet toys, these are lovely very quick and easy. Of course I've already started. I chose to make.....
Some pretty butterflies and a pretty bag to put them in for the person who bought it for me Grandaughter as a thank you.

Here's a peek...

One butterfly complete. I've just started the frill edging on the bag.

Can you see my Radio Times on the floor, it's constantly near by so I can check out whats coming on next. I'm just listening to Smooth Radio 70's, at the mo'  fab. Oh how I love my new radio :)

Must dash my loves, butterflies to finish x

Night night for now and happy crocheting x x

P.s the damn colds still winning!!

Tuesday 20 December 2011

Hello my lovelies,
Well here we are, finally broken up for the Christmas Holidays pheweee!

The craft fair was a huge success. I was really pleased with the turn out and the amount of money we made for the children, I didn't do badly myself either. I sold all of the crochet toys I made and much more besides - fantastic x

After a long day Saturday at the fair, I finally got home and carried my wares down to my shed along with boxes of wool that I'd sorted and packed up.
I opened a bottle of wine, sat down to relax and begin a new project. And then it happened............. my head started banging, my nose started running and I lost my voice - typical, would you believe it?
I rush around for weeks and as soon as I relaxed it got me!!! It had better be gone for Saturday, I'm going to dose myself up 'till it has, it will not get the better of me I haven't time to be ill !!!!!!

Well I've still managed a few projects.
The first is a lovely hot water bottle cover.....
I'm going to put some ribbon around the neck to pretty it up. I don't do this very often but this pattern I actually made up myself. The idea again came from my marvellous, yet very forgetful pal Sally!!

I've started another, using popcorn stitch....

Last night Daisy and I decided the time had come to make our paper chains, they look fab. Very vintage, I bought them from The Tokenhouse...

How gorgeous are they? Sorry, I only took close up pics. They do look gorgeous honest x

Today I popped in to knit 'n' natter and to see Anita. I also felt the urge to buy new yarn for a new project. I picked this...
Yum, Yum. I love a new yarn project. I bought up the last six balls in the shop and apparently it's now discontinued. It's Spirit by Freedom. It also comes in lots of other yummy colours.

I'm going to make a hat and scarf set for Miss Daisy out of this book with it...

The book was also bought from Anita. It has adult and kid hats. I chose this one...

Daisy's won't have the stripes, but will be super cute all the same.

I got home and couldn't wait! You know what I'm like!!
I kept calling Daisy so I could balance it on her head for size...

A few more rows and it will be finished, then I think I really should make something for Charlie x

Almost forgot to mention, I've started some new bunting to go above the mirror and open fire....

Not sure about it yet, it will most probably end up on the Stig pile.

Must be off, I've got a hat to finish and I'd really like to watch Kirsty.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Night night for now and Happy Crocheting x x x

Deck The Halls x x

Good evening my loves,

Hope your all well and feeling the festive spirit. Baggaley Cottage is bursting with it, each and every room. It only took us a couple of hours on Sunday to spruce the place up whilst listening to carols, how lovely it was too x

Would you like to see our Christmas trees?
Here's the smallest...
Sitting nicely under last years crochet bunting. We haven't put the batteries in Rudolph or Xmas tree yet, I wonder how long we'll get away with that!!!

Now here's the medium tree....

Charlie made a cute Santa to sit on top.
And here's my favourite....
I just love a real tree, don't you? The smell is amazing and so Christmassy x

Each decoration on my tree is different, here are a few of my most favourites....
I love the string of Ginger Bread Men and Women and the retro bauble.

Oooh, I love a glass bauble. These were from Habitat.
The large yellow one is from a set of twelve they each represent the twelve days of Christmas.

I think the pink pom pom came from Habitat as well. Do you know, one year I think I'll cover the tree in multi-coloured pom poms, how lovely that would be. What a great way to use all those odd bits of wool.

Daisy helped hang the little decorations on my wooden trees. I've collected these over the years from our annual German market.

Charlie's so excited about Christmas, as soon as he comes home from school he turns on the fairy lights.

On to the makes.. I finally got round to making my own little owls. Not as good as Daisy and Charlie's tho'....
The large are for hanging, the small are brooches.

I have the rest all cut out ready to sew, I think I might alter the eyes, I have a much better idea...

I feel a little stressed thinking about all the bits I have yet to finish for my Christmas Craft Fair. I still have organising to do for it too, I feel like I've been organising  forever !!!!!!!

We nipped over to Ikea last Friday, I picked up this glass cake stand to display some of my wares...

Rings on top, hair bobbles centre, owls on the bottom. They look okay don't they.

Last week I gave you a sneak peak in to some of the Christmassy bits I've been making for my pals at work. I feel I can show you now as I'll be giving them tomorrow. Do you remember my sock phase and how excited I was about them? Well I told everyone they were getting socks for Christmas and I wasn't fibbing....
Taaaaa, Daaaaaa..........
Well I didn't say how big they were going to be, Tee Hee. I've managed to cram little gifts in to them. I hope my pals like them ;) If you'd like the pattern for these it came from Lemonade Sucrette's blog or just take a peak at Tangled Happy in case I have the spelling wrong! You know what I'm like!!

I have two more stockings to make before tomorrow my loves so....

Night night for now and happy crocheting x x x

Surprises x

Good Evening my loves,

(yawn..) ooh I've just woken from a lovely sleep. Feeling exhausted, I've been very busy -

*Busy travelling around observing students.
*Busy organising the Christmas craft fair.
*Busy crocheting.
*Busy marking students work.
*Busy caring for my children.
*Busy Christmas shopping.
*Busy writing cards.
Busy, Busy, Busy.

Oh my goodness, when do we break up for Christmas!!!

I've been extremely busy with the crochet this week. Would you like to see...
I've created these.

And these.

Oh, I'm sorry did you want to see more? Well I'm afraid your going to have to wait my loves, these are very special Christmas presents for the lovely people I work with, so would hate to spoil the surprise x x

You can have a peek at Auntie Burrows though....

Here she is, she'll look much better with eyes and her right arm. I do love the style of Auntie Burrows. Did you know she has her own blog? Take a peek it's lovely.

My children have been creating this week, I'm so proud. They did such a good job.....

They wanted to make owls. This is Daisy's creation. Perfect stitches too.
She put a lovely label on it and gave it to her teacher....

And this is Charlies gorgeous creation....

Not one to be out done he gave his to his teacher as well.

And that's the lot for this week my loves, sorry I don't have more to show.

Oh, the bell on the ovens just rang, must get my sausage rolls out. It's our fuddle at knit 'n' natter tomorrow I'm really looking forward to it. I've just remembered I've not wrapped my gift for Secret Santa yet either. Still can't decide what to give !!!

Before I go I must tell you some news. (I hope it's not a secret!!). Oh well I'll tell you anyway. I popped in to Anita's the other day and she showed me a pic on her phone of the new creative cotton colours. How excited am I!!!! And, there is a candy pink and three more gorgeous colours. See good things come to those that wait :)

Night night my loves and Happy crocheting x x

Oh, damn the bloody sausage rolls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Happy Days x x

Good evening my lovelies,

Well I'm feeling very pleased with myself this week. I'm managing to keep on top of the college paper work and because of this I'm managing to crack on with the crochet, hoorah!!

I am feeling rather tired though. Once I start something I can't stop and I'm going to bed at stupid o'clock!!

Lots to show you tonight my loves, are you ready?

First we have the lovely Olive....
Here she is, she's rather large and took a lot of stuffing. The flower makes her look super pretty :)

This week I've also been trying to make small quick items, things that I can make lots of ready for the Christmas Craft Fair.
So here we have a cute little bag for cute little girls.....

or two.......

They really take no time at all to make. It's done in the round. You just stitch the bottom up when you're done and add a cute flower to finish it off.

And then I thought I really should create something Christmassy, it is a Christmas fair after all and so far I've only made the Christmas bunting. So here we have Rudolph...
So gorgeous, I love him. I must make a few more!! The pipe cleaner antlers and red ribbon finish him off nicely.
The pattern came from my most favourite magazine.....

Inside Crochet.

So far this week my most favourite items are my most gorgeous Rose rings...

Here's my favourite. I must say they are rather addictive and I've made lots.....

Daisy has put her order in for a ring. I'm hoping lots of other little girls like them because I love making them.

And last of all I've been adding flowers to hair bobbles, the idea came from my lovely pal Sally ;)

How cute :) Daisy has put an order in for these as well.

Lots more rings and flower bobbles to make my loves whilst I'm watching the goings on in the jungle,

so nighty night and happy crocheting x x x x
