Eeeeek......

Hello again my lovelies, no I've not seen a mouse, I'm a little excited I'll tell you more about that later!!!!
Do you know, it has been lovely waking up the past few days and not having to get up, get the children ready for school, pack lunch boxes etc... we are really going to make the most of each day during these six weeks we have off.
The children are so desperate to go out on a bike ride. I've got a really old bike that is so heavy I do struggle to ride it, lucky for me and them that I collect my new sit up and beg bike on Friday. It is very French looking, there's even room for a basket on the front, hoorah. That's one of the reasons for my excitement.
Back to the crochet, yet again I've been a busy little bee. I have completed another child's cardi from my lovely book 'Little Crochet' By Linda Permann. And here it is,

I'm really pleased with it. Linda Permann gives really easy to follow instruction. If I can follow them anyone can. I've not sewn the buttons on yet, just balanced them in place so that you get an idea of the finished look. My cardi even looks a little like the one in the book,

How cute.
I've also been trying to get on with a bright ripple blanket for my daughter.

It's slow going, I have made it quite wide. It takes at least 45 Min's to do a width, hence the slow going. I will persevere, it will not end up on the stig pile. Here's another pic of it,

I feel more enthusiastic about it now I see it on my blog. As soon as I finish here I'm going to crack on with it, maybe............
Oh dear, I did something terribly exciting today, more eeeks!!!!!!!!!
I've been trying really hard to clear my stig corner and I'm doing so well I decided to buy for a new project, the project is actually to take on my hols. This project is also going to be something for me. Do you know, Its my year anniversary of crocheting and I haven't made an item of clothing for myself. Always for others.
I've had my eye on the most gorgeous yarn for a while now, just waiting for the right project and today was the day.

How yummy and gorgeous is this? It's Debbie Bliss Andes, it's 65% baby alpaca and 35% mulberry silk, very luxurious. I do deserve it!!!!!!!! Honest!!!!!!! It is so soft to the touch, More eeeeeks!
I bought five skeins of it two here,

Two here, and oh dear where's the other one?
Here it is!!!!!
Well, would you have waited? I just couldn't. I can't get over the silky feeling as  I hook away and can't wait for it to grow.

This is the lovely shrug I am making, for me ;) I might with a struggle put it to one side for now and get on with the blanket.
(You may see more pics of it in my next post!!!!).
Well I'm off to play hide 'n' seek in the garden with the children before more crochet, which project will it be??!!!!!!!!??
Night, night for now.
Happy Crocheting x x x x x

Busy busy x

Hello there my loves, what a blustery few days we've had. Please bring the sunshine back!!
At the end of my last post I said I might have a secret to tell you. Unfortunately this little secret is not happening, I'm going to hold it close as I have another in the pipe lines and hope to share it with you. I don't want to jinx it by speaking too soon.
However I have been extremely busy making and creating. Do you want to see?

These lovely coat hanger covers look fab. Thank you my proper friend Pauline for sharing the pattern ;)
I have also crocheted some hearts and birdies.

Do you recognise the birdies. Thank you Lucy at Attic 24. I've been meaning to have a go at them for an age. They look fab hanging in my little craft shed. Yummy, yummy cakes too. I'm so pleased with them and they are easy to do.

Lastly I have been busying myself with the little craft shed. Giving it a tidy so that I can squeeze in more stuff, yes more stuff!!!! I just can't stop creating!
My Dad gave me a small table which I've put in place of the pasting table. It gives more space, so I have added another deck chair so that I can sit with friends, drink coffee and hide, tee, hee!!

If any of you guys would like patterns or tutorials adding to this blog please do let me know, I'm always willing to share my patterns and ideas :)

Well doesn't time fly, three more days at work and then we break up for the Summer hols, hoorah, hoorah!!
I am so ready for a well earned rest and lots of crochet days and of course days spent with the children doing fun stuff.
Better get off now, more creating to be done.
Night night for now and happy crocheting x x x

A fab few days x

Hello my lovelies, I do hope I make a better job of this post!! The last kept uploading by itself, hence the spelling mistakes!!!!
Well, I had the most lovely weekend. It started with a Summer Fair Saturday at my old Infant School. It was a bit freaky walking through the doors, the last time was thirty years ago!
I love setting up my wares for fairs, do you want to see some pics?

I didn't do too badly with sales it was a busy little Fair.
My bunting proved to be popular and I have a couple of orders.

I love my Peony's, they really make a statement pinned to a jacket or coat.

I'm a sucker for hearts x x

Well today has been delightful. It started with my little boys sports day. It was suppose to be last Thursday and I was absolutely gutted as it's a day I work. Thankfully it rained, hoorah. And was re-scheduled for today, yipee. My poor little boy was wishing for rain again today, he's not really into sports but is a black belt on the  x box!!
After sports day I dashed off to Knit 'n' Natter, I love it and feel I've really missed out if I don't go. It's a lovely couple of hours to chat and share patterns with (proper tee, hee!!) friends.
I shared my baby cardi pattern with a lovely lady and she gave me a pattern for a coat hanger pattern (watch this space). That reminds me I made another of the baby cardi's. This one I am particularly pleased with as it looks rather vintage.

What do you think?
And these are the lovely ladies busy knitting, crocheting, drinking coffee and eating biscuits.....

I love Knit 'n' Natter, thank you Anita for allowing us to take over your lovely little yarn shop and providing us with coffee x
I may have a little secret to share with you next time.
Nighty night and happy crocheting x x x

York x

Hello again, two posts in one day I hear you say. Well I've got so much to share with you!
Yesterday was a most fantastic day.
I haven't seen my best friend for a while as she's been working full-time. But yesterday we went to York for the day. It was actually a school trip for my daughter's class who have been doing a topic about vikings. Parents were invited to go on the trip for a small fee, to fill up the coaches and  enjoy a shopping day whilst the children went around the museums.
Well I couldn't say no to that could I now.
We arrived at 11ish and set off in search for Cath!
Eye spy with my little eye something beginning with CK!!!
Take a peek down one of the streets in the shambles, can you see her yet? You may need a closer look.
Can you see her now. There she is the lovely Cath Kidston shop. Oh joy of joys were we excited, especially as there was a sale on.
Unfortunately all of the bags in the style I wanted had been sold in the sale, but don't worry about me, I still found something else to buy.

I bought some spotty and floral fabric, a key ring. I also bought a pencil case, pencils and a packet of tissues for a lovely teacher at my son's school.
Whilst walking the Shambles I asked a couple of old ladies if they could direct me to Duttons for Buttons. A shop I have wanted to visit for a while. Little things really excite me as you might be able to tell.

Imagine my excitement when I spotted it.

I had to hold my breath. My BF who just doesn't get my passion for buttons said, I'm going to a shop up the street  I'll come back for you in a minute.
And then I went inside, are you ready.
Floor to ceilling buttons. What more could you ask for? But then of course I couldn't choose and bought only ten!!
And then of course after all of that shopping we needed refreshments. Where better But Betty's tea shop for a cuppa and a fat rascal.

Yummy yarn x

Hello my lovelies thank you for visiting my blog space.
I did promise to share with you some of my most favourite yarns and that's just what I'm going to do.

My local yarn shop is full of the most amazing yarns with lots of variety. As I mentioned in my previous post I'm like a child in a sweet shop when I visit. (Which is very often!!!!!).
Anyway here we go, at the top of my list it has to be the creative cotton. Thanks to Lucy of Attic 24 I am completely addicted and panic if I have only two of each colour. I be dash back to the yarn shop to stock up before my panic takes a hold!!
Here is my lovely stash.
The colours are fantastic. I have made all sorts with this cotton, from cushion covers to bootees, to tea-cosies to bunting, fab.
Another one of my favourites is Riot. It comes in a range of shades. I particularly like this one because of the duck egg blue.

It's fab to work with, it feels very silk like and I love watching the colour change. I've started to make a Japanese flower blanket with it.

Taa, Daaa. I've still got a long way to go. Yes, this is in my Stig pile!! The Riot I'm using is a double Knit. I get 15 flowers per ball. It also comes in a chunky.

I also like any of the Debbie Bliss yarn. It can be rather expensive, but it does go along way. I've just made this baby cardi.
The pattern is in my new crochet book, Little Crochet by Linda Permann.

Another Taaa, Daaa. I'm really pleased with it. It was completed in an evening and crocheted all in one piece.
I've just bought some lovely yarn for another of Linda Permanns children's cardigans.
Its Rico baby classic DK. I'll show a pic when it's completed.
Lastly I bought some yummy yarn from york yesterday (York blog to follow).  It's a King Cole merino blend DK. I was spoilt for choice with colours, but chose these. What do you think? I think they go pretty well together.

I'm turning this yarn into cushion covers, hopefully I'll have something new to show you in afew days.

Night night for now. Happy Crochet x x

Sunny sdays and completed projects

Hello there my lovelies, what a beautiful day it's been today. I've been feeling a little wary, but the sunshine has really cheered me up.
I have spent the last week finishing projects to try and clear my Stig of the dump corner. Hoorah, you may hear Gav shout!
Firstly the owl cushion is well and truly stuffed!
I'm really pleased with him and feel a strong urge to start another!
I have also been very busy completing bootees for a couple of friends of mine.

How cute are they? I love them, they're really popular.
I have also finished a baby blanket as a gift for a friend of mine who is due to have her first bundle of joy next week.

The ribbon finishes it off nicely. I do hope she likes it.

On Wednesday after work, I dashed to my local yarn shop. I find it extremely difficult to stay away from my LYS, I'm like a child in a sweetie shop. I love the colours that adorn the shelves. I think the owner Anita thought I was abit of a weirdo at first, popping in every two or three days to buy yarn. I think Anita has now realised I have a true passion for yarns and crochet and is now a friend. I no longer need and excuse to pop in as she holds Lot's of groups in the shop, how fantastic is that. I go to Knit 'n' natter every week, evening knit 'n' natter once a month and crochet club once a month. I love it, It's a great way to meet new people old and young, I have made some lovely friendships there. You also have plenty of people to ask for help if your struggling with a pattern. ;)  Well, the reason I nipped down to the YS was buy yarn to make my job-share a scarf for her birthday. I chose this yarn isn't the colour yummy.
Sitting in the sunshine this afternoon I completed it. I chose a lovely vintage pattern and here it is.

Hoorah, hoorah, hoorah!!!!! I'm pleased with it. It was finished in record time. It looks very pretty on.
Well I'd better get on with more crochet, did I mention I'm a crochet addict?
The problem I'm facing is that I've gathered so many patterns for projects, I don't know which to start first!
I'm off to decide so nighty night.
In the next post I will be sharing with you some of my most favourite yarns.
Happy crochet x x
